The fair trade materials and work were all made in Guatemala from a vintage handwoven huipil from the Chichicastenango region of Guatemala. The bag is entirely handcrafted. The only machinery used in its creation was a sewing machine to stitch it together.

They are made from vintage Huipils, or shirts, woven on backstrap looms by Mayan women in Guatemala. Each huipil tells the story of the woman who created it. The history, skill and meaning behind each huipil has been handed down for many generations.
