Bird Talk Huipil with Soft Robles Xela Leather Medium Convertible Day Bag

This one of a kind tan leather bag is absolutely wonderful! The custom created huipil is woven then embroidered with a stunning palette that only mother nature could create such beauty. This pattern was woven and embroidered into a stunning textile by a Mayan woman of Guatemala. The colors of this bag are vibrant and rich shades of emerald green, turquoise, yellow, orange, fuchsia and every color you can think of. The pockets are perfectly complimentary handwoven corte fabric. The bag is unstructured and floppy.

The fair trade materials and work were all made in Guatemala in the Chichicastenango region. The bag is entirely handcrafted. The only machinery used in its creation was a sewing machine to stitch it together.

This CDB, or convertible day bag can be worn many ways. It comes with a matching leather shoulder strap, leather backpack straps and leather handles so it can be carried in many ways. This bag is one of a kind. You won’t find its duplicate anywhere.

These bags are fair trade, sustainable fashion and unique. They are made from vintage or custom created Huipils, or shirts, woven on backstrap looms by Mayan women in Guatemala. Each huipil tells the story of the woman who created it. The history, skill and meaning behind each huipil has been handed down for generations.

The bag is entirely handcrafted with full grain soft buttery leather handles and a matching leather shoulder strap and backpack straps. There are natural marks and lines in the leather that are natural to the leather. This bag will keep getting better with time! A leather tassel adorns the zipper pull.

The interior has a leather trimmed zippered compartment and two pockets for a cell phone and your miscellaneous goodies. It has a plastic zipper and high quality silver tone hardware. The interior is lined with beautiful handmade plaid Corte fabric. There are exterior pockets front and back.
